Firstly, I should explain a certain misunderstanding.
Qualifying this group as pure British misses the truth.
It will become understandable, that the recording
and release of the record were in Germany, when
I say that today two members of the group are still
connected to this country.

Rob Terstall wrote to me that "I  and Stuart Fordham  played in a group called "Honest Truth", with German bassist Klaus. The trio
backed American artists on floorshows in german and italian US~Clubs. The trio also backed a Reggae ~ Show "The Tony Morgan Show"
through Italy. Coming back to their "base city" Frankfurt, bassist Ray Brown and singer Jimmy Patterson, both from "The Facts of Life"
joined and the group started writing orginal material in Regensburg. They went to London to do some recording with producer Johnny
Goodison, but ran out of money. Rob went back to Germany, spent a summer with friends near Regensburg and met up with Jeff Beer, a
highly talented Hammond player, who was convinced into forming ODIN with Stuart and Ray." In XII 2002 I got message from Stuart
Fordham: "Rob got a couple things wrong. The four orginal members of Honest Truth were: Rob Terstall ~ g, Stuart Fordham ~ dr,
Ray Brown ~ bg and Jimmy Paterson ~ voc. Ray Brown did not join the band later. The only two members of the band that survived the
Italy job  with Tony Morgan  was Rob Terstall and myself. Klaus the bass player was sacked when we returned to Frankfurt. Prior to Jeff
Beer joining the band we started rehearsales with another keyboard player called Hannas, who was orginally from Hungary, which of
course was under communism  in the old regime. Unortunately Hannas died which opened the way for Jeff Beer (ex-Elastic Grasp) to join
us later on. That  was when we changed our name to ODIN".

Second from left on the photo up is JEFF BEER, who was born in April 1952 in Mitterteich (northern Bavaria). Similarly, guitarist ROB
TERSTALL (first from left on the photo) is still living in Germany. He was born in Amsterdam, Holland. Only those two are still
professionally connected with music. But this expression is not fully adequate in J.Beer's case. His thorough education in different spheres
of art, permits to till him different changes. He is painter, a sculpurist and also member of different groups executing vanguard music.Only
Rob Terstall did not take on leave with rock music (see link below). For 30 years he has played in different groups executing jazz and rock
music. He was also a representative of the Roland Meinl Company for 20 years. His opinions and translations into English language we can
still come across in the net today.    Ray Brown works as a self-employed carpanter in London.

RAY BROWN  and  STUART FORDHAM went back to native England after the split of
the group. Stuart was  the co~owner of a company dealing with some electronic test
equipment. He was the orginator of group's name. However, the real musical "guide" for the
group was  FRANK ZAPPA. Odin many times played  his compositions on their concerts.
Two compositions are dedicated to him, "Tribute to Frank" and "Turnpike Lane". Creator
of that latter composition is Rob Terstall, who, on my question for the origin of the text
("ya,ya")  confirms humoristic implication.Unfortunately, the record didn't sell enough
copies to give them the option to do a second record. They wrote lots of material for a
second album, that they also played on life gigs, but they never got to record these tunes.
Odin split up in may 1974. Maybe we might hear Odin again. This idea is considered by Jeff
Beer and Rob Terstall  (information from e-mail, 2002).

In July 2007, Long Hair Music reissued first and only Odin' longplay with one bonus track, "Oh No" (F.Zappa)
For all who are interested in present pictures and information about Odin's members, I invite to taking away the following places:

                        But now, this idea is unrealistic. I got e-mails from K.Fordham (Stuart's brother)and R.Brown with infomation:

                                      died on 12th Oct, 2003 recently having suffered for a few short months a cancer.
                                                                 He was cremated at Woking on 21.10.2003"

In 2007, German record company, Long Hair Music issued CDs with live songs recorded in 1973 and 1971. The First CD, "SWF Session 1973"
(LHC00056), February 2007, contains: 1. Turnpike Lane (Terstall) 2. Life is only (Beer, Brown) 3. King Kong (F.Zappa) 4. Oh No (F.Zappa). All
songs recorded live at SWF-Studio, U1, Baden-Baden (Germany), 02 February 1973.
The CD contains bonustrack: 5. Make up your mind (S.Hammond) recorded live September 1971 at Maxim, Schweinfurt (Germany). The cover
made by Jeff Beer. This record dedicated to the memory of Stuart Fordham.

The Second CD, "Live at the Maxim", (LHC00057), May 2007, contains: 1. Oh No (F.Zappa) 2. Man Of Reason (E.Rosenbaum) 3. Ohio
