There are albums that still are to be released on a CD. For instance a great album by an American band Creed from Memphis, also known as Southern Creed.
Foremost - do not mistake the band with the 90's grunge band Creed. This is a completely different band.
Line-up (from left to right):
Chip Thomas dr
Steve Ingle voc, g
Hal Butler voc, keyboard
James Flynn bg
Luther Maben g
The band was formed in 1978 by Steve Ingle and Luther Maben.
Their irst and only album called Creed was released by Asylum Records (6E 146).The album was recorded in Caribou Ranch and produced by David Malloy.
The cover contains special thanks for W.J. Guercio. The tracklist:
1. Keep on rockin' (Maben/Butler)
2. Tied down (Likes/Ingle/Maben)
3. Firecracker (Ingle)
4. You never see it that way (Maben/Butler)
5. We 're gonna make it (Maben/Butler)
__________
1. Just can't stop (Ingle/Thomas)
2. Too proud to cry (Maben/Butler)
3. Can't find love (Butler)
4. Time and Time again (Butler/Ingle/Maben)
The LP didn't gain much recognition and the band "faded into oblivion". The music is mostly recommend "Creed" to the fans of Doobie Brothers or Lynyrd
Skynyrd. The tracks I like - We're gonna make it and Too proud to cry. Fast, dynamic tunes that would be great for singles. For me, the album has a gig's
climate. With every minute there is more energy in the air, and every track gets more dynamic and interesting than the previous one.
UPDATE - July, 2011
Creed parted ways in 1984. A year before, the band released an EP "Believe it!". It contained the following tracks:
"Can't face the night alone", "Really doesn't matter", "Wrong time", "I know better now".
They released the record themselves. In the beginning of the 80's, Hal Butler left the band. Luther Maben
followed suit and was soon replaced by Jimmy Rusidoff. In December 2007 and December 2010 the original
lineup played a few shows in Memphis.
Fragments could be found on YouTube. Just type in Southern Creed and you'll find it.
